Mind your head challenge

Headway Cambridgeshire asked local businesses, as well as school and college students, public sector employees and individual members of the public, to take part in an exciting new initiative called Mind Your Head.

The initial event, held on 3rd October 2014, asked teams to come up with new ideas for products or services that could help people with brain injury as well as those who care for them. Eight of the best ideas were then chosen to present to a panel of dragons, which included academics, business people and investors at a second event on 28th November 2014.

The evening saw innovative ideas that ranged from folding helmets to tracking devices and both dragons and audience members were asked to vote for their favourite product. The under sixteen winning team was Glow. Their innovation was a glow-in-the-dark cycling helmet, manufactured from a material 30% stronger than that used in the construction of regular cycle helmets.
